IS IT STARTING THEN CUTTING OUT????

if so then it sounds like youve lost your pats chip from the key when you changed the batteries.

Also check around your battery connections, there are a number of smaller wire attached that have a habit of breaking off and dropping down.

have got one of those but the car was still running with it hanging and it was one a garage said was surplus.

immobiliser doesnt control starter motor. check all connections on battery, the thick one goes to starter trace that one out. on starter theres a thin wire thats the solenoid check that its intact. have you got a multimeter and know how to use check when key turned that 12v is on the thin wire

Does anyone know just putting the pats chip back will it need any sort of reprogramming or just work cause its back in

The PATS chip does not need reprogramming. Its a passive thing and should just work.
